This position is temporary (seasonal) and limited to 1039 hours within a service year. The projected period of work is from April through November. The appointment may be extended for additional service years without further competition; however, each year is restricted to 1039 hours of work. The appointment may also end early due to lack of work or funds.
This position is located on the Cherokee National Forest, Unicoi, TN. The person will work out of the Watauga Work Center in Hampton, TN.

The USDA Forest Service has legislative authority to recruit and fill Permanent (Career/Career-Conditional), Temporary, and Term Appointments under the USDA Demonstration Project. Under this authority, any U.S. citizen may apply.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
